After three years of fun putting together the Year’s Best YA Speculative Fiction volumes for 2013, 2014, and 2015, we’re stepping away from that series to focus on other projects. Alisa has her hands full with parenting and superstar Jamberry consultant work, and Julia’s working as the Poetry and Reprints Editor for Uncanny Magazine and teaching some writing workshops through Writespace in Houston, Texas.
We’re both excited about the books we’ve made together and we’re still open to the possibility of future collaborations (did someone say, “Kaleidoscope 2”?), but we’ve come to the end of the road with this particular series.
Thanks to everyone who submitted and/or contributed stories. We really enjoyed having the chance to read so many wonderful YA SF stories. And thanks especially to all of our readers! You’re the best!
Julia and Alisa
I’m sorry to see the series go, but at least it’s for good reasons. I’m glad I was able to be part of it! Thanks for bringing these great projects into the world and championing YA short fiction.
Thank you! We’re so glad we got to work with you through this series too.
