Two questions I’ve been asked to put forward:

1. Are woodworking projects allowed to be counted as craft?

2. Are the morlocks (*rolleyes*) still protected by copyright? The original Time Machine novel is available at Project Gutenberg (suggests copyright expiry) but there are recent Time Machne films that presumably bought some kinda merchandising rights?

as per the guidelines:

“Twelfth Planet Press novels will push boundaries to question, inspire, engage and challenge. We are specifically looking to acquire material outside that which is typically considered by mainstream publishers.”

However, I don’t have a problem with the 35 year old female market.

For your fantasy genre, are you interested in manuscripts that don’t involve vampires, werewolves, angels, etc. or are you (like every other publisher) only interested in targeting the 35 yo female market?
Please forgive my somewhat jaded outlook.

Hi Paula,

Within the broad boundaries I have listed, I am specifically not looking to pick up the subgenres of epic fantasy or splatterpunk ie epic fantasy is fantasy but not all fantasy is epic fantasy. I am also not looking for nonfiction in this call and I have a separate submission period for novellas, I am specifically looking for novels at this time.

Can you clarify the brief please?

I’m confused between you looking for “science fiction, fantasy, horror and crime. We will consider borderline literary, new weird, steampunk, space opera, hard science fiction, soft science fiction, urban fantasy, cyberpunk, military science fiction, young adult, paranormal romance and everything in between

and

“we are not looking for epic fantasy, splatterpunk, novellas, nonfiction…”

it’s probably me but it is a subjective world after all…
